The Soka Gakkai World Seikyo Center formally opened on November 18, 2019, with Ikeda Sensei and Mrs. Kaneko Ikeda visiting the facility for the first time on September 28, at which time the two offered prayers in the main worship room ("Genron Hall") and toured the premises.
In addition to its editorial section to publish the Seikyo Shimbun newspaper and other periodicals, the Center features an exhibition hall introducing the paper's origins and subsequent highlights, while visitors can view Seikyo publications at the Library and Reference Room. On the first floor entrance is a monument, "Seikyo Shimbun--The Triumph of Mentor and Disciple," inscribed with words by Ikeda Sensei in honor of everyone whose contributions continue to make the newspaper an inspiring media in advancing kosen-rufu worldwide.
